Blizzard is preparing to launch the next expansion for Hearthstone. Journey to Un’Goro is expected to arrive very soon and the developer has just released a new update in preparation for the next expansion.

This update completes the preparations being made for the Year of the Mammoth which begins very soon. The blog post from blizzard reveals that a new rogue hero is coming to the game. Once the expansion arrives, players will need to win 10 standard ranked or casual mode matches to unlock her. The new hero is called Maiev Shadowsong and other details about her ability are currently unknown.

It also adds some functionality support to the upcoming Fireside Gatherings Tavern beta test. Blizzard has confirmed that participants will be selected very soon and that the closed beta test will be very limited. Once the closed beta has ended, the developer should be allowing everyone to test the Tavern. The update also introduces a new UI element which is a useful tooltip for the number of cards in your hand.

Android players will now be able to download the game’s data to a SD card when starting the game for the first time. Blizzard hasn’t confirmed if users will need to reinstall the game if they want to move their data.

While there are several new additions to the game with this update there are also a variety of bug fixes. This bug fixes address a range of issues in the game such as the issue where the Jade Spirit card didn’t appear in the search systems. The full patch notes for the recent update can be found on the official website here.

The Journey to Un’Goro expansion will be adding over 100 new cards to the game. The expansion will be arriving later this month on April 6th for all platforms.
