The brand new Necromancer class has just been introduced into Closed Beta for Diablo III. The new class was announced at BlizzCon last year where the developer confirmed that the class was a mage which used a brand new playstyle.
Anyone looking to test this new class will be able to do so in the upcoming Closed Beta test. This test will be coming soon and there will be no location restrictions for this test. Blizzard has also confirmed that there is no NDA for the test. Players will be able to take screenshots and record gameplay of their experience with the new class.
How to Participate
To take part in the Closed Beta, players need to opt in for Beta Testing. This is done by visiting the Beta Profile Settings page in Account Management. Players then need to check the Diablo box found under “Beta Tests I’m Interested In”. In order to be eligible for the test, players need to have an active Diablo III license and their account must be in good standing.
Blizzard also notes that not everyone will be given access to the beta test. According to the blog post invites to the “closed beta will be extremely limited”. The developer hasn’t revealed the exact number of slots however so it’s uncertain how many people will be able to participate in the Closed Beta.
The developer has stated that testers will be chosen according to their “system specifications, in-game activity and other factors, including an element of luck”. Players who have been selected for the Closed Beta will be notified by email.
In addition to the new Necromancer class, the Closed Beta will contain a variety of new features also. The full patch notes for Closed Beta Patch 2.6.0 can be found here. Full details on the Closed Beta can be found on the official blog post.
