Infinite Warfare beta comes to PS4 a week early.
Infinity Ward took to Twitter yesterday to make an exciting announcement for all of its fans. “We’ve gone gold! Excited for our upcoming MP Beta and all the optimizing we can do for launch with your gameplay data.” This is really reassuring. In a year full of delays and buggy launch disasters, it’s nice to know that Infinite Warfare has reached gold status well over a month before it’s due to release on November 4. The team at Infinity Ward should have plenty of time to make any tweaks or changes needed to ensure a launch as smooth as Call of Duty‘s trademark 60 FPS gameplay.
If you’re wondering how you can participate in the closed multiplayer beta, here’s the scoop. The beta will be held for Xbox One and PS4 players who pre-order Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. PS4 owners get a one-week head start, and will have access to the beta from October 14 to October 17. A week later, from October 21 to October 24, Xbox One owners can join in the fray as well. To clarify, anyone who pre-ordered the game on PS4 will have access to both beta weekends.
Sorry, PC players, you don’t get to participate in the beta. This is an unfortunate (albeit growing) trend. The sad truth is that, undoubtedly, a handful of PC participants would make it their sole purpose to data mine files and spoilers during the beta period, and Infinity Ward doesn’t want the headache of tracking down and policing everyone who might spill the beans. To everyone else, I look forward to seeing you on the field of battle next month.
