ZeniMax Online have been hard at work on The Elder Scrolls Online for the past few years. While the developer released a major expansion earlier this year, they’re planning to release another DLC next month. This DLC is called “Horns of the Reach” and will be arriving in August.
Horns of the Reach includes two new dungeons. The first is Bloodroot Forge which was created by Hircine the Daedric prince himself. The forge is used to create powerful weapons and players must travel through the dungeon to stop Gherig Bullblood from completing his evil plans. In addition to this, the developer confirms that up to four players can take on the dungeon together.
The second dungeon is the Falkreath Hold which introduces a town under siege. Without help, the town will fall to the “marauding hordes of Domihaus the Bloody-Horned”. Players must work together to break the siege and enter the town to defeat the monstrous warlord which has taken residence at the Jarl’s hall.
In addition to the new dungeons, there is also a new 4v4v4 map coming to the game. The Arcane University is coming to the regular Battlegrounds rotation and is set in the Imperial City. However, you won’t need to have the Imperial City DLC to access this new map. There will also be a new Battlegrounds game type called “Chaosball” where players must hold on to the ball for as long as possible to score points. Whoever controls the ball will also be given a healing and armor debuff which gradually deals damage to the entire party. This new gametype is only available for those with the ESO: Morrowind expansion.
While there’s several new features coming, there’s a small number of “quality-of-life improvements” coming also. These include a Guild Invite history, the ability to cancel a research project mid-way and an update to the currency system.
The DLC will be coming to the Public Test Server next week and there’s no NDA on the content. There is currently no release date but the developer should announce this soon.
