A GTA 6 leak group is tying the release of more footage to a bizarre real-world condition: gamers must stage a leek-costumed protest outside the game’s corporate offices.
Cyberleek said at least 10 participants must appear outside Take-Two or Rockstar offices dressed as leeks and holding game discs before it releases additional footage, Polygon reports. It is an unusual attempt to turn an online leak campaign into a public spectacle.
Takedowns have not contained the leaks
Take-Two, the publisher of GTA 6, submitted DMCA takedown requests, but the leaked material continued to circulate, Polygon’s report says.
Cyberleek also hosted its leak site through Arweave, a decentralized protocol described as retaining information permanently. The choice adds another wrinkle to Take-Two’s ongoing efforts to contain the material.
Take-Two pursued the group’s identity
The publisher has also used legal measures in an attempt to identify the hacking group. Polygon reports that Take-Two issued subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord, then later sought a court order against X.
Cyberleek’s latest demand now puts prospective participants directly into its release strategy, asking fans to appear publicly in costume before any further footage is shared.
