Are the car packs worth buying on Forza Horizon 3?

Forza have announced that they are adding an extra seven cars to their already extensive lineup. The announcement comes after the car racing game was awarded Best Racing/Sports game of the year at the 2016 game awards. The list includes:

  • 2015 Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept
  • 2014 Morgan 3 Wheeler
  • 1965 Pontiac GTO
  • 2017 Jaguar F-PACE S
  • 1996 HSV GTSR
  • 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT R
  • 1992 Toyota Supra 2.0 GT Twin Turbo

It’s an impressive list. The HSV and Bentley are the standouts for me. HSV only produced 86 models of the ’96 HSV GTSR and will sure please revhead Aussie racing fans. The Bentley was announced in 2015 and is still yet to be released. It’s an amazing combination of power and luxury. A description on the other five cars can be read on the Forza Motorsport site.

For those who purchased Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition you’ll get the cars at no extra cost. Otherwise, you’ll need to spend $29.99 on the Car Pass or $6.99 for a standalone car pack. The Car Pass will save you around $2 on each six packs. This will be the third release with 3 more to come till March next year.

Next week will also see the release of the Blizzard Mountain Expansion Pack. Unfortunately again it will be an extra cost on top. If you’re in for the long drive it’s worth getting the two packs for $34.99. Otherwise, the Blizzard Mountain standalone will be $19.99. Ultimate Edition buyers have vented their frustration after being told they will also need to spend more for the pack. If they purchase it by the end of the year they’ll get $10 off.

Here’s the trailer for the Logitech G Car Pack.

Lachlan Cosgrove

Lachlan's passion for gaming started when he played DOS games like Commander Keen and Wacky Races. His passion grew when he discovered his Aunt's Atari 2600 and was given a Game Boy for Christmas from his Pa. His favourite console has been the PlayStation 1. Right now he has become a little lazy with gaming but still enjoys the occasional FIFA session. He hopes to get back into playing games more regularly so he can switch off from the real world like he did as a Kid. He's excited about the introduction of VR and hopes for some great VR titles.
