Euro Truck Simulator 2 has been around since 2012 and the game is still receiving support today. Developer SCS Software has just announced a brand new expansion for the game. This DLC will be taking players to the beautiful land of Italy.

While it’s already possible to drive through the northern region of Italy, the expansion will open up the rest of the country to players. The northen region will also “receive an extra layer of polish” so everyone will benefit from this new DLC and the map upgrade.

According to the blog post released by the developer, the team expect to release this new DLC towards the end of the year. There is currently no release date for this new expansion but SCS Software should be announcing this soon.

The post also provides a little bit of insight about the upcoming DLC. It states that the “geography and shape of Italy have also led to a relatively high concentration of cities and industries” in the upcoming expansion. In addition to this, the blog talks about the beauty of the region and how the “map designers have fallen in love with the new region right from the research stage”. The Italy region will be filled with a variety of different types of environments such as mountains, sea shores, farmland and much more “wilder and more arid places”.

“We tried out vest to depict the typical features of Italy from behind the wheel” states the blog post. Clearly then this new DLC is posing to be a great challenge for the development team. Hopefully the end result will be just as amazing as the developer post makes it sound.
