A poster for Destiny 2 has been leaked online today. The image comes from GameStop Italy and seems to show the release date for the upcoming game. According to this poster, Bungie will release Destiny 2 on September 8th. The original images of the poster were first put online via NeoGAF.
The image provides a release date in addition to confirming that there will be a Beta for the game. The full sentence about the Beta is cut off so it’s uncertain exactly what the poster meant by mentioning it. It’s thought however that access to the Beta is a pre-order bonus for the upcoming game.
Italian website League Network has posted another image which seems to be a different poster. However, it could be a very zoomed in version of the current poster which is making the rounds online. Sadly, this other image doesn’t offer anything new but it does show a small section of a blue PlayStation header. So it looks as though the developers are teaming up once again with Sony for this new game.
The original Destiny game was partnered with Sony for the main game and the expansions. While this hasn’t been confirmed, the images suggest that the developer is partnering with Sony once again.
So far there’s been no comment from Bungie, Activision or Sony about this apparent leak. Currently it’s unknown if this leak is of a real poster for the upcoming game. Bungie has confirmed in the past that they’re working on Destiny 2 and that the new game would be released this year. So it’s definitely possible that this apparent ‘leak’ is true. The developers were most likely waiting to unveil the game at E3 2017 later this year.
We will provide you with updates as the situation unfolds throughout the day and the next few months.
