The Destiny series is making the trek to PC for the first time with Destiny 2, and Bungie has detailed some benefits to making the switch. The PC version comes with various graphics options and an uncapped frame rate, but it won’t be available on Steam.

Check out one of the first 4K Destiny 2 PC screenshots below, courtesy of Nvidia. See them in full resolution on this site.

Destiny 2

In addition to 4K resolution, Destiny 2 on PC will feature support for monitors with a 21:9 display. PC gamers will also be able to play the shared-world shooter with an uncapped frame rate, remapped keyboard/ mouse controls, and adjustable field of view settings.

“If people want to play on PC with a controller, because that’s how they grew up playing games and that’s how they want to play,”Director Luke Smith told PC Gamer, “so we’re going to support controllers as well, and hot plug-and-play between it and mouse and keyboard.”

While these PC settings are thrilling players, Bungie may not be on track to release the PC version alongside the PS4 and Xbox One copies in September. Smith said, “We’re not committed to a PC date yet, but at Bungie we’re totally committed to making a PC build as great as we can.”

Another interesting detail: Destiny 2 for PC will be sold via Blizzard’s Battle.net instead of Steam. Smith said we should hear more news on a PC release date in the coming weeks.

Destiny 2 launches on September 8th for Xbox One and PS4, though you may be able to get in on the action earlier, as a beta is coming this summer.

Until then, check out the exciting gameplay reveal trailer below.

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.

“Incredible! This blog looks exactly like my old one!
It’s on a totally different topic but it has pretty much the
same page layout and design. Superb choice
