An Austrian retailer seems to have leaked the release date for Days Gone. The PlayStation 4 exclusive was revealed during E3 2016 but the developer hasn’t provided a release date so far. It now looks as though the release date for the game has been leaked.
Austrian retailer GamesOnly has the release date down as August 22nd. A screenshot taken by WCCtech confirms this news and the website still currently has the release date online. This release date seems to be for the “uncut Edition” of the game however, there’s currently no information about what this means.
The store page for Days Gone also reveals a little more information about the game. Players take control of Deacon St. John who avoids the safe camps found in the wilderness. He prefers to spend his time exploring the destroyed streets of cities and towns. The game takes place in the Pacific Northwest and the ‘zombies’ in the game have been named as “Freakers” according to a translated version of the GamesOnly sale page. According to the store page, players will need to search for supplies, collect raw materials and find a reason to live in the harsh world.
In addition to this, the store page also confirms that a PS4 Pro version of the game is coming. Days Gone will have a PS4 Pro version ready at launch later this year.
This release date hasn’t been confirmed by developer SIE Bend Studio. A release date was expected to be revealed later this year at E3 2017 in June. It’s uncertain if the developer will confirm the release date in the wake of this apparent leak. The developer should also reveal the different versions of the game.
Hopefully the developer will provide a statement soon and we will provide you with updates throughout the year as the situation unfolds with Days Gone.
