Civilization 6 now has a free demo available through Steam. The demo gives players a chance to test the new game and see what they think for themselves.

The free demo is extremely limiting however. It only includes one country and one leader. Players are forced to take control of China and Qin Shi Huang as its leader. There’s also a round restriction on the demo which stop players from playing too far into the game.

Gamers can only play 60 turns of the game in this free demo. As a result, it only unlocks a small portion of what the game has to offer players. 2K Games hasn’t confirmed if progress can carry over from this demo to the full game. While this is quite restricting, the demo does allow the player to replay it without being forced to buy the full game.

This free demo is great news for players who are uncertain about paying the full price for the game. It’s also good for newcomers who have yet to explore what the Civilization series has to offer.

The free demo release matches the 2K Games publisher sale on Steam which is taking place this weekend. Civilization 6 is included in the same and is currently 20% off from the full price. In addition to this, other Civilization games such as Civilization V, Beyond Earth and older titles are currently discounted also.

While there are plenty of Civilization games included in this sale, there are a variety of other games also. Xcom 2, Mafia 3, Borderlands, NBA 2K17 and WWE 2K17 are all included in the massive publisher sale.

This sale is exclusive to PC players via Steam and seems to be for this weekend only. There is currently no ending date or time for this sale so anyone interested should make their purchases as soon as possible.
