Because we all know that Assassin’s Creed II is the best Assassin’s Creed.
I don’t care who you are or what you say, Assassin’s Creed II is one of the best action / adventure games of all time, and it’s certainly the best Assassin’s Creed in the series. Brotherhood and Revelations weren’t quite as mind-blowing, mainly because they were basically over-priced expansions. Ezio’s story arc is the what propelled the series to greatness, though. For years I’ve been dying for an Assassin’s Creed II remaster, and lately I’ve come very close to pulling the trigger and buying it on Steam, just to play through it again.
It’s a good thing I waited, because it seems like I might be getting that remaster after all – and then some! NeoGAF user “catmario” noticed an interesting listing on the Korean Game Rating Board. The listing is for PS4 and Xbox One versions of Assassin’s Creed: Ezio Collection. The Korean Game Rating Board has let slip a few games in the past, so I think it’s safe to assume that this is actually happening.
Given that it’s called the Ezio Collection, I also think it’s safe to assume that we can count on a remastered trilogy containing Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations. Obviously Ubisoft hasn’t mentioned anything officially, but we do know that after a streak of yearly releases, there won’t be any new Assassin’s Creed game this year. This collection would be the perfect stopgap in the meantime. If you’ve never played Assassin’s Creed II, this needs to be on the top of your priority list whenever it comes out. When we do get that release date locked down, we’ll be sure to let you know.
