Nintendo’s newest app game, and the first ever Animal Crossing one, was revealed in a recent Nintendo Direct presentation. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is coming to both iOS and Android smart devices in late November.

In Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, you are tasked with running and customizing your own adorable campground. You can watch the above video for a brief overview of the app, watch Nintendo’s full 14-minute presentation, or read on for a rundown of the game’s features.

The Animal Crossing app game holds a lot of content, especially for something made for mobile devices. Your human character is customizable, as is the RV you’re given by a new trio of penguins. By customizing your camp with furniture, decorations, and amenities, you can attract your favorite villagers and interact with them. Most items must be crafted with Cyrus, who requires resources for any projects you bring him.

Another way to acquire items is shopping. Timmy and Tommy are back running the Nookling Global shop, along with clothing store Able Sisters To Go, and shoe store Kicks. Bells for your shopping needs can be earned by selling items you collect on your adventures.

Your campground isn’t the only location in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. There are other areas your character can venture to for gathering resources, finding minerals, catching bugs, fishing, and fulfilling villagers’ requests. When you do things for villagers, your friendship level with them will go up.

The app is free to download and play, but it does offer microtransactions for speeding up progress and buying items sooner. Nintendo confirmed there will be seasonal events throughout the year with special goals and items offered for a limited time.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is out in Australia now with a global launch slated for late November.

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
