Volition’s new game Agents of Mayhem hits shelves today. From the team behind Saints Row, this is an over-the-top open-world action game of world-policing super cops. Check out the new trailer below.

In a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, John Choon from publisher Deep Silver detailed a few of the insane things Agents of Mayhem lets players do.

First, there’s a triple-jump. That’s right, they literally one-upped double-jumps. All twelve playable characters can use the triple-jump to traverse the cityscape and fight enemies.

Choon also discussed the game’s setting — Seoul, South Korea.

“When creating the hand crafted open-world, we wanted to find a location that conveyed the global theme of the game, and Seoul does exactly that,” said Choon. “The fusion of ancient and modern architectural styles allowed us to make distinct districts within the world, and to allow Seoul to be set apart as the technological capital of our universe in Agents of Mayhem.”

Remember Cabbits? Half cat, half rabbit, all adorable? Cabbits have made appearances in almost every Volition game, and Agents of Mayhem is implementing them in an interesting way. You can actually turn opponents into cute little Cabbits with a consumable craftable item called Gremlin Tech. According to Choon, the enemies-turned-Cabbits also, um, explode. So watch out.

Choon touched on dark matter technology, which gives agents the means to teleport and players the means to swap between three characters with the press of a button. Each character comes with his or her own weapons and perks, so pick three and head out to do some crime-fighting with fun combinations of special abilities at your fingertips.

If you’re wondering about the game’s missions, they’re gearing up to be pretty kooky too. Choon described one job where players must take out an evil pop star in the middle of a concert by destroying her autotune. Can you hack it?

Agents of Mayhem is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We’ll have our full review up for you soon!

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
