Poochy & Yoshi’s Wooly World Coming Next Year to 3DS

Yoshi’s Wooly World gets even better with some extra Poochy love (it’s only creepy if you read it out loud).

The Wii U’s most adorable game is getting even cuter next year on the 3DS. I’m talking, of course, about Yoshi’s Wooly World. Wooly World is the best Yoshi game since Yoshi’s Island on the SNES, and I wouldn’t say that unless I really meant it. If you didn’t get a chance to play it on the Wii U, you won’t want to miss it on the 3DS.

The 3DS version has been re-branded as Poochy & Yoshi’s Wooly World; So-called because in addition to every stage from the original game, the 3DS version will also feature a variety of exclusive stages starring Yoshi’s canine companion Poochy. I don’t care how manly you are or how seriously you take yourself, if you don’t find Poochy adorable, you don’t have a pulse.

A new power-up will also be available: Poochy Pups. POOCHY PUPS. These adorable little shits will scurry behind you and sniff out all of the hidden treasures and secret areas in every stage. If you’re still feeling too manly to care, you might be interested to know that Nintendo has teamed up with the stop-motion animation studio Dwarf to produce a series of 30 animated shorts starring Yoshi and Poochy, and they look irresistibly charming. All 30 of those shorts will be crammed into the 3DS version of the game.

The best part about this whole thing? Prepare yourself for the Yarn Poochy amiibo.

Yarn Yoshi is the only amiibo I’ve ever considered purchasing, and the fact that he now has a Poochy companion seals the deal. I’m getting both of them. Look at ’em. The amiibo chip is patched on to his little Poochy bum. It’s too much. Look out for Poochy & Yoshi’s Wooly World on February 4, 2017. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go outside and reclaim my manliness by doing push-ups, spitting, chugging beer, and hand-rolling some cigarettes that I’ll never smoke.
