Timefall Includes Non-Game Music Inspired by Death Stranding’s Narrative

Sony in partnership with record label RCA will release a full album titled Timefall alongside the hugely anticipated Death Stranding.

The album includes eight original tracks. You can listen to Death Stranding by Scottish electro-pop band CHVRCHES now.

The eight tracks include:

  1. Trigger – Major Lazer x Khalid
  2. Ghost – Au/Ra x Alan Walker
  3. Death Stranding – CHVRCHES
  4. YELLOW BOX – The Neighbourhood
  5. Meanwhile… In Genova – The S.L.P.
  6. Ludens – Bring Me the Horizon
  7. Born in The Slumber – Flora Cash
  8. Sing to Me – MISSIO

The album title Timefall – as you may have guessed – is named after the rainfall in Death Stranding. The eight songs each find inspiration from the game’s narrative.

“SIE and Kojima Productions set out to find artists in many different genres whose music evoked some of the key thematic elements in Death Stranding. Each artist on Timefall spent time with the team at SIE, interacting with the game’s story and vibe, coming up with their own unique takes on connection, love, loss, and rebirth. ” – PlayStation.Blog

Let’s get to the nitty-gritty

The full album will come with the Death Stranding Special Edition or the Death Stranding Collector’s Edition. Also, with the Digital Deluxe Edition which is available for preorder now.

An album featuring in-game music will also release after Death Stranding is available.

A code will come with the physical releases DEATH STRANDING Collector’s Edition and DEATH STRANDING Special Edition. The code is redeemable on a website hosted by Sony.

If you purchase the DEATH STRANDING Digital Deluxe Edition, you will receive an email including the code on or around the release. You can redeem the code on Sony’s website.

Timefall Physical Release

The digital album is DRM free – sigh of relief – and Sony plans to release a physical copy as well as digitally across various music streaming platforms.

An update on when the physical release will be available will come out before the game’s release on November 8.

So, what are your thoughts on the first track? Do you have any theories on the track listings and clues to the narrative of the game? Let us know!

Lachlan's passion for gaming started when he played DOS games like Commander Keen and Wacky Races. His passion grew when he discovered his Aunt's Atari 2600 and was given a Game Boy for Christmas from his Pa. His favourite console has been the PlayStation 1. Right now he has become a little lazy with gaming but still enjoys the occasional FIFA session. He hopes to get back into playing games more regularly so he can switch off from the real world like he did as a Kid. He's excited about the introduction of VR and hopes for some great VR titles.
