Steam Lunar New Year Sale Discounts Thousands of Games

The year of the dog is approaching, and people around the globe are gearing up to celebrate the Chinese New Year in all sorts of ways. The gaming industry is no exception, and Steam is ringing in the Lunar New Year with a massive sale on thousands of games, many appropriately dog-themed. Steam’s Lunar New Year Sale is live now and runs until February 19th.

If you’re overwhelmed by the choices in this sale, fear not. We’re here to give you our top picks of both pupper-themed games and the array of other titles you can grab for great prices. As far as games featuring dogs go, you can’t go wrong with any of the following:

Fallout 4 (50% off at $14.99) – A post-apocalyptic open-world RPG with plenty to explore, collect, and craft, all with the help of your loyal pupper companion Dogmeat.

Okami HD (30% off at $13.99) – This critically acclaimed masterpiece with beautiful Sumi-e ink art style actually lets you play as a dog, who is actually the Shinto sun goddess.

Undertale (50% off at $4.99) – This indie gem puts players in the underground world of monsters and tasks them with escaping, and the only way out is through. You don’t even have to kill any of the enemies you encounter thanks to the unique battle system.

Watch Dogs 2 (66% off at $20.39) – Okay, you got us. This one just has “dogs” in the title; it isn’t actually about watching dogs. You can run into some puppers, however, as you team up with Dedsec, a notorious group of hackers, to execute the biggest hack in history.

If you’re not adamant about playing a game with dogs in it, we have several other recommendations for you below. But hurry! The sweet deals end of February 19th.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (60% off at $19.99)

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (30% off at $20.99)

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (50% off at $29.99)

The Sims 3 (75% off at $4.99)

Life is Strange (75% off at $4.99)

The Long Dark (50% off at $17.49)

Cuphead (15% off at $16.99)

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
