For those who have already budgeted for the PlayStation 5 and want to splash some cash, Sony has what you need.

Sony revealed in their State of Play live stream a new Limited Edition console that will be available soon for pre-order.

It comes in steel-grey with a 1 TB hard drive and matching Dual Shock 4 controller. It’s very similar to the slim model with a shinier finish and the Triangle,Square, X and Circle symbols on the console.

Steel yourself.

Punny!

Fans on Twitter were a little disappointed that the Limited Edition was not a Pro model and also that there were no updates on the PlayStation 5.

The new console will most likely be released in June to coincide with Sony’s annual Days of Play event. The price for the steel-grey is unconfirmed, however, the word is that it will be priced similarly to the entry-level PS4.

Lachlan's passion for gaming started when he played DOS games like Commander Keen and Wacky Races. His passion grew when he discovered his Aunt's Atari 2600 and was given a Game Boy for Christmas from his Pa. His favourite console has been the PlayStation 1. Right now he has become a little lazy with gaming but still enjoys the occasional FIFA session. He hopes to get back into playing games more regularly so he can switch off from the real world like he did as a Kid. He's excited about the introduction of VR and hopes for some great VR titles.
