It was revealed earlier this week that Outlast 2 would be released in Australia. The games Australian publisher, 18point2 has now released a statement on the issue. According to this statement, the original submission contained a video file taken from the Alpha version of the game. The video “should not have been sent” and “its content was not a representative of the final game”.
The publisher went on to say that the same game has been re-submitted. This time however the game was sent with a video file that reflected the final game. As a result, Outlast 2 was then given a R18+ rating.
So this confirms what the mistake was when the game was first submitted. This also confirms that there is only one version of Outlast 2 which will be available for worldwide release next month.
Outlast 2 will be released on April 25th for most of the world and on the 26th for Australia.
