Nintendo Reveals More E3 Presentation Details

E3 is the biggest gaming convention of the year with almost all major publishers and developers booking stages for revealing and discussing upcoming games. Nintendo has always done E3 a bit differently. They normally opt out of live stage showcases for their own video presentations or livestreams focusing on only a couple games. Though Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé recently teased Nintendo has “big E3 plans” this year, we’ve had no idea what those plans entail. Thanks to a press release, we have a lot more information for you excited E3-goers.

Some lucky E3 attendees will actually get to go hands-on with a few upcoming Switch titles, such as Super Mario OdysseySplatoon 2, and ARMS, according to Reggie. Super Mario Odyssey will be playable as soon as the E3 show floor doors open, and live tournaments will be hosted for the latter two titles.

Super Mario Odyssey is Nintendo’s first sandbox Mario game since Super Mario Sunshine, so they’re gearing up to really show off their work on this one.

As for presentations, the first one will be a live video called Nintendo Spotlight: E3 2017, which will showcase Odyssey and other 2017 Switch titles. It goes live on June 13th at 9 a.m. PST / 12 p.m. EST at http://e3.nintendo.com.

Yet again, Nintendo will host a Treehouse Live stream to play and discuss upcoming games for both the Switch and 3DS consoles. It will start immediately after the initial video presentation. Treehouse staff will show off gameplay as well as give viewers behind-the-scenes looks at their development. No details on specific games have been revealed.

The Splatoon 2 and ARMS tournaments will be livestreamed from the E3 show floor. Times have not been set, but Splatoon 2 is set for June 13th, while the ARMS competition will be June 14th. More details will be revealed closer to the event.

E3 takes place June 13th- 15th in Los Angeles. Stay tuned to A9K for the latest coverage.

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
