Destiny is getting a 4 hour maintenance next week

Bungie has just announced that Destiny will be going through a round of maintenance next week. Destiny’s servers will be going offline during this time.

According to the recent blog post from Bungie, the scheduled maintenance should take around four hours to complete. The blog post confirms that players will be unable to sign into the Destiny servers during this time. It also adds that some Bungie.net and Destiny Companion features will be unavailable between these hours.

Here are the server maintenance times:

Date: May 17th (Next Wednesday)
Start: 10 AM Pacific / 5 PM UTC
Estimated end time: 2 PM Pacific / 9 PM UTC

The purpose of this extended maintenance has not been revealed but Bungie does list some issues they’re aware of in Bungie.net. According to the blog post, these issues will be dealt with sometime next week. It’s possible that this round of maintenance will include the fixing of these issues.

Here are the issues that Bungie has noted and will be fixing:

  • Post Game Carnage Reports – They should become available once the issue has been fixed
  • Statistics – It should take around 24 – 48 hours for the stats to appear on Bungie.net

The blog post ends by noting that they are are still looking into one issue. This small issue causes certain statistics from specific game types to not appear on Bungie.net. It’s uncertain when Bungie will be able to fix this issue but the team is currently working on it.

While the blog post from Bungie notes several issues, it doesn’t mention what the team will be doing to Destiny during this long maintenance period. Hopefully Bungie will release more details about this as May 17th approaches next week.

We will provide you with updates once we learn more about this scheduled maintenance from Bungie. For now, Destiny fans should keep an eye on the BungieHelp Twitter account for more information on the Bungie.net issues.
