New Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and The Crew Games Coming in the Next Year

Ubisoft has revealed new entries for four of the publisher’s biggest video game franchises, coming sometime this fiscal year. These games include Far Cry 5The Crew 2South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and an unnamed Assassin’s Creed title.

The Far Cry 5 reveal came from the series’ official Twitter account, along with a minimalist logo and a link to Ubisoft’s YouTube account for future updates.

This will be the first installment in the mainline Far Cry series since Far Cry 4 in 2014. No other details for this first-person shooter have been announced, though reports claim the game will take place in the American West, specifically Montana.

While a sequel to open-world racing game The Crew was mentioned in Ubisoft’s recent earnings release, a Community Manager on Ubisoft’s forums confirmed the title as The Crew 2, along with a logo, below, and the message, “Beyond the road… Stay with us for more high octane thrills!”

As for the new Assassin’s Creed entry, which was announced in Ubisoft’s earnings report, no title or further information has been revealed. However, reports have claimed the next installment in this franchise will be Assassin’s Creed: Origins and will take place in ancient Egypt. The series’ Twitter account said more information on this game will come at E3 2017.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole was reconfirmed in the publisher’s earnings report, though it’s been delayed a couple times since its original December 2016 launch date.

The four Ubisoft titles announced today are all confirmed for release in this fiscal year, which ends March 31st, 2018.

We should see more details from Ubisoft at E3 next month. Stay tuned to A9K for the latest.

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
