Microsoft sends lollipops with real scorpions inside

Via NeoGAF, Jeuxvideo, and Gamersyde, it’s been reported that Microsoft has sent Scorpion lollipops to some of the international press. In case you didn’t know, Microsoft’s new Xbox is called PROJECT SCORPIO, and they are not messing around!

how many teraflops in there?

Scorpions in lollipops are a common treat in many countries, available at gas stations in case you need to buy fuel and fancy eating a sugary arachnid.

According to Healthytravelblog:

“In parts of Asia, Africa, South America and Australia insects, including locusts, crickets, beetles, caterpillars, and bamboo worms, are a common snack. Some people eat scorpions, and tradition says that eating the tail (where the stinger is) will make you strong. In China, you can also taste test exotics such as jellyfish, seahorses, starfish, and sea urchins.”

Insects also provide a substantial amount more nutrition than animals (per weight of course).

Scorpion Scorpio

Is the nutritional power of the scorpion a metaphor for Project Scorpio’s power advantage over the fat cows of Sony and the limp salad of Nintendo? (I kid). Although a recent Microsoft E3 teaser video displayed an easter egg of “6>4” as in six Scorpio teraflops being better than the four of PS4 Pro.

Microsoft is planning to show off Project Scorpio at their E3 Conference, scheduled for Sunday, 2PM PT / 5PM ET

A longer E3 Conference

Phil Spencer, fresh off of criticizing consumers for wanting more backwards compatibility than they actually use, tweeted that their upcoming conference will longer than the usual 90 minutes.

Xbox briefing Sunday will likely run longer than our traditional 90 mins. For those recording just a heads up. #XboxE3

Watch it in 4K

Microsoft wants you to watch the conference on their Mixer streaming platform, and will show the conference in 4K (they must have done that for PS4 Pro users, how nice).

I’ll have full breakdowns, reviews, and reactions to Microsoft’s, and every other major E3 Conference on our YouTube channel. See you there.

Mathew is a huge fan of Space, Strategy, and Shadowrun (Genesis version is #1). When it comes to games and films, he’d much rather experience a 10/10 classic from yesteryear than a 6/10 modern blandfest. He does feel we’re living in a gaming golden age with the power of indie developers at an all-time high, but wishes AAA publishers would take more risks. Mat believes it’s only a matter of time before the pendulum swings the other way and new ideas take their rightful place above reboots.
