Today Bandai Namco revealed a new story trailer for Jump Force. Not only do we get a quick peek at the narrative setup and hub world, we also get to see the character creation mode. As you can see, you will be able to decorate your own custom character costumes, styles, and features inspired by all of the Jump characters included in the game. The trailer also reveals a few brand new characters. Check it out above.

In all, the trailer reveals four new characters who had yet to be confirmed for the Jump Force roster. This morning’s press release gives us a few details on each, though none of them need any introduction for anime fans.

  • Asta from Black Clover. A brave but stubborn child wielding an unique anti-magic sword, who dreams of becoming the Wizard King.
  • Trunks from Dragon Ball. The son of Vegeta and Bulma, he possesses the incredible strength of his father, with the intelligence of his mother.
  • Boa Hancock, from One Piece. The captain of the Kuja Pirates and the only female member of the Shichibukai.
  • Renji Abarai, from Bleach. A highly talented swordsman.

The story isn’t anything special. The worlds of the various Jump characters have merged with the real world. While this has allowed our favorite heroes to appear in our world, it has also enabled some very powerful villains to invade our world. One of them wants to remake the world entirely, and we have a feeling that we won’t be part of his new creation. Thankfully, the Jump Force heroes are here to help us, and we’re here to help them.

It’s campy for sure, but then, what anime or manga isn’t at least a little campy? We’re excited to get our hands on this one, so stay tuned for more coverage as we speed toward its February 15 release!
