Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy Ep.2 release date and plot info

Episode 2 of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will be landing in our galaxy on June 6th.

Rocket Raccoon and the “mysterious new relic” look to be at the center of the upcoming episode. Like many Telltale games, look for a multi-platform release on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.

The Telltale News Blog had this to say:

Hi Telltale fans and True Believers –

We have some exciting news for you. The second episode of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, “Under Pressure,” is set to debut on June 6 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, iOS devices and Android devices.

In “Under Pressure,” the Guardians just can’t seem to outrun the past (or their tab), but if they figure out how to control the untold power of their mysterious new relic, they might not have to. With help from dubious old friends and unwilling new allies, Star-Lord and company scour the galaxy for answers. But how long can they elude the genocidal maniac hunting them? And will simmering tensions finally tear the team apart?

And get ready to delve into a certain Rocket Raccoon’s past…

Marvel Games Executive Creator Director Bill Rosemann tweeted that Episode 2 could be moistening a few eyes.

“This one is going to make you cry…yes, even you, post-ironic hipster…”

If you’re interested in catching up with the series you can read our review here by Matthew Owen, who said “Tangled in Blue did a great job as an opening episode, as it definitely got me excited to see more.  It’s a bit too brief, finishing up in around an hour. However, it was a great hour of entertainment that makes me eager to continue the story.”

If you’d like a second opinion in video form, I spoke with Matthew Hayes about it here:

Our Matthew Owen will be covering the entire series right here on A 90s Kid, so look forward to his review if you’re wary of spending your spacebucks.

Mathew is a huge fan of Space, Strategy, and Shadowrun (Genesis version is #1). When it comes to games and films, he’d much rather experience a 10/10 classic from yesteryear than a 6/10 modern blandfest. He does feel we’re living in a gaming golden age with the power of indie developers at an all-time high, but wishes AAA publishers would take more risks. Mat believes it’s only a matter of time before the pendulum swings the other way and new ideas take their rightful place above reboots.
