Fortnite‘s latest update has gone live, and with it comes new items and weapons in Battle Royale. The biggest addition in this update is the Boom Box. If you’ve never been that great at building in Fortnite, and you want to take revenge on those who out-build you in every skirmish, this bad boy is going to be your new favorite item. Here’s the quick-and-dirty from the official Fortnite blog:
“Drop the bass with the newest item available in Battle Royale, the Boom Box! Crank the volume and toss it at enemy structures to tear down their defenses.”
- Activate to create powerful blasts of music that deal structure damage in a large area!
- Newly built walls in the radius of the box are destroyed with every blast.
- Shoot the Boom Box to stop its effects.
If you’re feeling more creative than destructive, EPIC has added new prefabs and galleries for you to mess around with in the new Creative mode as well. You have eight new “Ice Castle” prefabs to work with, as well as multiple new galleries with and without snow.
If you’re creatively inclined, then it’s worth your time to try to build something amazing. If you creative something truly beautiful and truly functional, EPIC might even port your creation over to “The Block” section of the Fortnite map for players all around the world to play. Getting a victory royale is nice, but how many people can say that they contributed something to the real Fortnite map?
