Battlefield 1 is getting a free trial weekend this week

EA has announced that Battlefield 1 is getting a free trial this weekend. This free trials is available for Xbox One and PC. PlayStation 4 seems to be excluded from the free trial weekend however.

The free trial weekend begins tomorrow and will run until March 5th. While the free trial is available for both Xbox One and PC, there are some significant differences between the two platforms.

The Xbox One version will allow players to explore the full multiplayer and single-player campaign. There are no restrictions for this free weekend. However, users will need to have a Xbox Live Gold membership to participate in the free trial.

PC users however will be getting a slightly different experience. The free trial on PC is much more limited where players only get to explore one single-player campaign chapter. It also contains only two multiplayer maps for players to fight on. In addition to this, the PC free trial is limited to only 10 hours of play. This trial will be ending on March 6th however.

As expected, EA is currently having a publisher sale where Battlefield 1 is discounted to $30 on all platforms. This sale includes a range of other games such as Titanfall 2, FIFA 17 and also Star Wars Battlefront.

All progress made during this free trial will be saved and carried over to the full game. Players will also be able to keep all achievements and Gamerscores collected by playing Battlefield 1 even if players don’t purchase the full game.

Earlier this week, EA announced more information about the upcoming expansions for the game. Four expansions have been confirmed which provide new single-player content and multiplayer features. The first DLC is “They Shall not Pass” which is French themed and contains several new maps in addition to a new vehicle.

Anyone looking to take part in the free trial weekend will be able to download Battlefield 1 from tomorrow.
