Today is your last chance to play to test out Ubisoft’s upcoming hack-and-slash game, For Honor. The Open Beta began on the 9th and is ending today on February 12th. The game will be released next week on February 14th.
The Open Beta is for the multiplayer section of the game however, For Honor will have a campaign mode. The campaign mode has been confirmed to feature online co-op. No local co-op will be featured in the game however.
Gamemodes
Four gamemodes are featured in the Open Beta.
Duel: This is a 1v1 mode where players fight for the best of 3/5 rounds. Each player only has one life and there are environmental dangers on each map.
Brawl: Similar to Duel, this mode is a 2v2 where players fight for a ‘best of 3/5’ rounds. While each player has one life per round, it’s possible to revive your downed teammate.
Elimination: This 4v4 mode is similar to Duel and Brawl, players fight for a ‘best of’ number of rounds and each have one life per round. Teammates can be revived and just like the other modes, there are environmental dangers on each map.
Dominion: Unlike the other modes, respawning can happen at almost any point in the match. Players fight in a 4v4 capture the point style mode where teams race to earn 1000 points first. Reaching 1000 points causes the other team to ‘break’ which stops them from respawning. The last team left standing then wins the game.
Heroes
There are nine heroes featured in the Open Beta however, there are twelves heroes in the full game. Players can test each of these heroes out without needing to unlock them first. While it’s possible to play all of the heroes without unlocking them, players can’t customize their character.
For Honor has been confirmed to be getting new heroes after the game has been released next week. We will update you as we learn more from Ubisoft.
