Xbox Game Pass July 2017 update announced

Microsoft has just announced the latest games to be added to the Xbox Game Pass. The new subscription-based service launched last month with more than over 100 games currently available for download and play.

The company had previously announced that they would be adding and removing titles every month. However, they didn’t state how many games would be coming or leaving each month. This new announcement seems to have cleared this up slightly.

New Games

As the announcement trailer above reveals, seven new games are coming to the service. Here’s a full list of the games:

  • Dead Island Definitive Edition
  • Resident Evil 6
  • F1 2015
  • The Flame in the Flood
  • Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition
  • Bard’s Gold
  • Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine

All of these games will be available to play from July 1st this week. Currently, Microsoft has not revealed if any games will be leaving the service this month. They may make another announcement later this week however.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to download and play these games from the start of July. However, the bulk of the library will remain the same each month until they are eventually switched out. All Xbox 360 games included in the program are playable through the Xbox One backwards-compatibility program. In addition to this, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can purchase games in the service at a reduced rate.

For those who don’t know much about the service, it’s a Netflix style game service. Gamers are able to download games to play from their console. Unlike Netflix, there is no streaming involved as players download and run the game like a standard digital copy.

The service costs $10 per month and there is currently no way to purchase several months of access at once. Hopefully Microsoft will be adding this in the near future.
