In celebration of Valentine’s Day and, uh, brightly colored space battles, Microsoft is including Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime in its February 2017 installment of Xbox’s Games with Gold.

“Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime … hopes to win hearts with its bright, charming graphics and frantic, fast-paced gameplay. Scurry around your ship to man turrets, lasers, and other devices with up to three friends or a single, loyal space-pet in this fun-filled co-op space shooter.”

Asteroid Base’s co-op space adventure game will be free to Xbox Gold members for the whole month of February.

The other free Xbox One game in next month’s promotion will be the racing game Project Cars Digital Edition, which will actually be available for free well into March.

Two LucasArts Xbox 360 games will also be free, playable on the Xbox One via the Backwards Compatibility program. The pirate adventure game Monkey Island 2: Special Edition will be free for the first half of February, while Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will drop to $0 the second half of the month.

Listed below are all four of February’s Games with Gold and when you can snag ’em free of charge.

  • Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime: February 1- 28 on Xbox One
  • Project Cars Digital Edition: February 16- March 15 on Xbox One
  • Monkey Island 2: Special Edition: February 1- 15 on Xbox 360 & Xbox One
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: February 16- 28 on Xbox 360 & Xbox One

A few of January’s Games with Gold are still available to download for now. World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap and The Cave will be free until January 31st. Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Edition (the best steal at $40 retail price) went free the middle of this month and will be until February 15th.

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
