BULKHEAD and Team17 will run a closed beta for WARDOGS from August 21 to 23, ahead of its September 10, 2026 Steam Early Access launch.
The combined-arms FPS supports up to 100 players split across three teams. Battles use 2×2 kilometre dynamic control zones, with construction and destruction systems changing how squads attack or defend territory.
Pre-purchasing guarantees access to the beta. Players can also request Steam playtest access for a chance to participate.
A demanding PC target
The published minimum target is 1080p at 60fps using upscaling. Recommended hardware targets either native 1440p above 70fps or upscaled 4K above 60fps. Those are developer targets rather than independent benchmark results, but they indicate a heavy CPU and GPU workload for a large multiplayer battlefield.
The scale is the real technical test. One hundred players, three competing fronts and destructible spaces can create CPU-heavy simulation and networking pressure even when image quality is reduced. Stable frame times will matter more than a headline average.
Full dates, access details and PC requirements are listed on the official WARDOGS Steam page.
