Touchdown: Armor League is an arena game that blends sports with the shooter genre where the player controls an armored powersuit with the aim of scoring goals for their team. There are six players per team and the game is played in a fashion similar to football where there are two opposing teams. The aim of the game is to score as many touchdowns as possible within the 15 minute match.
Passing in this game is a little bit different to traditional American Football, fumbles don’t stop the game and players on the other team are able to grab the ball if someone drops it. Players on the other team need to intercept passes, stun opponents or destroy the other players powersuit if they want to steal the ball.
The developer hasn’t gone into too much detail about this yet. But the Kickstarter confirms that players will be able to fully customize their powersuits. It looks as though there will also be customization options for a range of equipment. This will let players enhance the strengths and weaknesses of their different powersuits.
Four types of powersuits have been confirmed to be in the game so far. However, the Kickstarter for the game lists several others as stretch goals. The developers are looking to raise $50,000 for the game and there’s a large number of bonuses for backers. One of the most interesting rewards allows backers to create their own victory dance and gun. Other rewards include a 3D model of a powersuit.
The game is being developed by Ares Games who have previously released two games in Asia. The team is now looking to move to the international market.
There are 30 days left on the Kickstarter for the project. The team has already raised over $9,000 for the game. If you’d like to know more about the Touchdown: Armor league you can find the Kickstarter here.
