HBO today announced that The Last of Us is to receive a series adaptation Co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions – their first television series.
Award-winning pair Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann will write and executive produce, Carolyn Strauss (Game of Throne, Chernobyl) and Evan Wells are also Executive Producers.
The story – in the TV adaptation – takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilisation. Joel needs to get Ellie out of the quarantine zone and the pair journey across the U.S., relying on each other to survive.
The HBO series will cover the original game with the possibility of additional content based on The Last of Us Part II which releases this May 29th.
