Formerly a PlayStation 4 exclusive, Tequila Works’ Rime has been re-revealed by IGN for multiple platforms in a new trailer, posted above.

Rime was first revealed at Gamescom 2013, but we haven’t seen much of the game since. Sony recently returned the property rights to indie developer Tequila Works, who have decided to bring the action-adventure game to Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch, in addition to PS4. This official confirmation comes shortly after we reported that Rime was spotted on the Brazilian Ratings Board for the listed consoles.

The new trailer shows how far Rime has come in the past years. It still has its cel-shaded, mystical vibe that reminds us of The Last Guardian, LoZ: Wind Waker, and Ico. IGN reports that the title will launch in May of this year. I’m excited to solve Rime’s puzzles amidst those gorgeous environments.

Tequila Works describes their newest game as “a single-player puzzle adventure about discovery, experienced through the eyes of a young boy who awakens on a mysterious island after shipwrecking off its coast. Players must navigate the island’s secrets by making use of light, sound, perspective and even time. Inspired by the rugged, sunbaked terrain of the Mediterranean coast, Rime paints its breathtaking world with a fusion of vibrant colors and moving musical undertones to set the stage for the deeply personal journey that awaits within.”

Take a look at Rime’s former most recent trailer from Gamescom 2014 to see the progress that’s been made on this stunning action-adventure-puzzle game.

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
