Razer Blade Pro Gaming Laptop is an Impressive Desktop Replacement

Razer Blade Pro will blow your mind!

Razer this week unveiled their new Razer Blade Pro gaming laptop. CEO Min-Liang Tan unveiled the laptop, emphasising its portability and “insane” power. The Pro is a huge upgrade from their current Razer Blade laptop. It’s been completely redesigned. The Pro has been specifically built for users who need desktop performance on the road.

The features include an Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad-Core Processor, Geforce GTX 1080 desktop class GPU, 32 GB Dual-Channel DDR4 memory and up to 2TB of SSD storage. The Pro also features an ultra-low-profile keyboard to mimic the feel of a regular keyboard.

The screen also sounds very impressive. It’s a 17.3 inch 4K IGZO monitor with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology. The G-SYNC is designed to produce smooth frame rates. It also offers 100 percent accurate Adobe RGB colour accuracy.

Heat management is a crucial factor for performance. Razer have gone to great lengths to make sure the Pro is cooled properly. They have created a new thermal management system. It includes the worlds thinnest manufactured vapor chamber cooling solution for a laptop which dispels heat evenly and efficiently.

All current VR headsets are fully compatible with the Razer Blade Pro. It easily matches the specs required. The Razer Blade Pro is a great portable solution for VR players. Whether portability is important for VR, we’ll have to wait and see.

You’re probably thinking this won’t come cheap and you’re right. This gaming beast starts at a whopping US $3,699. Unless you desperately need a VR ready desktop replacement I would look for alternatives. We recently posted an article on best choices for gaming laptops.

Full specifications can be found on Razer’s website. The reveal trailer is below.

Lachlan's passion for gaming started when he played DOS games like Commander Keen and Wacky Races. His passion grew when he discovered his Aunt's Atari 2600 and was given a Game Boy for Christmas from his Pa. His favourite console has been the PlayStation 1. Right now he has become a little lazy with gaming but still enjoys the occasional FIFA session. He hopes to get back into playing games more regularly so he can switch off from the real world like he did as a Kid. He's excited about the introduction of VR and hopes for some great VR titles.
