During the Six International that took place this weekend, Ubisoft finally revealed the Velvet Shell update. They released footage and details of both new operators and the new map in action.

The below video shows the new content coming in the Velvet Shell update.

Mira

Mira is joining the defender team and comes with a unique new ability. She’s able place a one-way bullet proof glass window on walls in the game. Any destructible or reinforced wall can have this special rectangle glass window placed on it. Attacks will see the wall as a black mirror which they cannot shoot though however, some abilities will be able to destroy it.

The glass window also comes with a gas canister underneath which will open the window when shot. It allows the defenders to see through the window then open it at the right moment.

Jackal

Jackal is the new attacker who is able to track enemy players. He can see footprints in different colors that represent how recent they are which allow him to track players across the map. In addition to this, he’s able to scan enemy footprints which reveals their exact location on the map. The entire team will be able to see the enemies location when the player scans their footprints.

The video doesn’t reveal many ways to avoid being scanned but does confirm that Caveira can avoid detection when using her ability.

New Map

The name of the new map has been confirmed to be “Coastline”.  This map is set in a club house in Ibiza and features a courtyard that defenders can enter without risk of exposing themselves.

Coastline has been confirmed to be two stories with many placed for players to propel themselves into different positions.

The Velvet Shell update will officially be released tomorrow on February 7th. As always, Year Two Season Pass holders will get the new operators tomorrow for free. They will have one week early access to these new operators before other players get a chance to unlock them next week.
