Start Planning Your Schedule For PAX Aus 2016

This years PAX AUS 2016 line-up is huge!

Attendees of PAX Aus this November can now plan their schedule for the three day event. PAX have released the full line-up of exhibitors and panels. You can access it on the PAX site or download the 2016 PAX Aus Guidebook app.

PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo will headline the event. Publishers including Ubisoft and Bandai Namco will be attending as well as Magic of the Gathering creators Wizards of the Coast. There’s also a huge line-up of over 100 indie developers. The list includes those chosen for the Australian Indie Showcase. The Showcase is a chosen group of Indie Devs from Australia and New Zealand. The devs have been selected by industry vets.

Xbox Live Director Larry Hryb, or better known as Major Nelson, is included in the panelists this year. There will be a Q & A on Friday and Sunday with PAX founders Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins. So you too can join in on the discussion. “This year’s PAX Aus is set to be the biggest yet, with a weekend that gives players hands-on access to this holiday’s slate of anticipated titles,” Holkins said. “Gaming is a global culture, and for the weekend of PAX Aus, its capital is Melbourne, Australia.” Other panels include representatives from Dishonored 2, Alienware and RIOT Games, to name a few.

Who doesn’t love a good tourney at PAX Aus?

Pre-registrants may also have the chance to participate in the Omegathon tournament. The Omegathon includes battles across multiple consoles from different generations. The final round is on the main stage at the closing ceremony. To mix things up a little, there will also be musical performances from 7bit Hero, Axis of Awesome, and Duet Live (performed by Tim Shiel & Luke Howard). Special guests will include Twitch streamers and YouTubers, including Matt Shea.

There are a huge number of events in this years schedule so its probably wise to pre-plan your days at PAX. Single day badges are still available for $65 but are running out so make sure to grab tickets soon.

Lachlan's passion for gaming started when he played DOS games like Commander Keen and Wacky Races. His passion grew when he discovered his Aunt's Atari 2600 and was given a Game Boy for Christmas from his Pa. His favourite console has been the PlayStation 1. Right now he has become a little lazy with gaming but still enjoys the occasional FIFA session. He hopes to get back into playing games more regularly so he can switch off from the real world like he did as a Kid. He's excited about the introduction of VR and hopes for some great VR titles.
