Party Game Overcooked is Coming to the Switch This Week

A few new titles are hitting the Nintendo Switch eShop this week, but the one you’ll want to be sure to check out is a port of the acclaimed party game Overcooked. Its complete edition is coming to the Switch July 27th.

In Overcooked, chefs are tasked with chaotically preparing and serving meals in all sorts of different environments. Its a party game and can be played with up to four people in local co-op, but there is also a single-player mode.

Overcooked: Special Edition will cost $19.99 and comes with the base game, which was a smash hit last year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Team17 and Ghost Town Games are also packing in The Lost Morsel DLC that added six more campaign levels and chefs, a helicopter vehicle, and the Jungle theme.

Below is everything Overcooked: Special Edition features, via the press release:

  • 44 campaign levels which can be played solo or couch co-op with up to 4 players
  • 9 versus levels to play head to head locally with either 2 or 4 players
  • 22 different chefs to play as. Choose a human, raccoon, dinosaur, French bulldog, robot or even a reindeer in your quest for culinary greatness!
  • A range of crazy kitchens to play across with different recipes to master – cook soup, burritos, burgers, fish and chips and more!

The Switch version supports the controllers’ HD rumble feature, so you’ll feel that soup sloshing around in your pot as you carry it across the kitchen. And, of course, you’ll be able to play it in any of the Switch’s three play styles: handheld, tabletop, and TV mode.

Other Nintendo Switch eShop releases this week include Namco Museum and Fate/Extella: The Umbral StarOvercooked: Special Edition releases July 27th for $19.99.

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
