Paradox Interactive announces Surviving Mars

Welcome Home! The time has come to stake your claim on the Red Planet and build the first functioning human colonies on Mars!

Reads the description for the just announced space simulation game from Tropico developer Haeminmont Games. “Surviving Mars” is the new game coming from the developer and just like the name suggests, players will be constructing a base on Mars.

According to the official description of the game, players only need a few things to build on the planet: “supplies, oxygen, decades of training, experience with sandstorms, and a can-do attitude to discover the purpose of those weird black cubes that appeared out of nowhere.”

So while the main focus of the game is building a base, it looks as though there will be an element of mystery also. Publisher Paradox Interactive hasn’t revealed any hints about what these mysterious black cubes are. They will be leaving it for players to discover on their own once the game has been released.

However, the description does go into some detail about the simulation elements. Players will have several space agencies to select from for financial support. Once selected, players can then decide where to build their colony. While this sounds simple, the description comments that surviving is “not an easy task on a strange new planet”.

Players will have a variety of challenges to overcome throughout the game. However, the publisher doesn’t go into detail about what these ‘challenges’ are.

If you’d like to read more about Surviving Mars, you can find the full details on the official Paradox website. However, there is currently no release date for this game. It’s uncertain when the developer or publisher will announce a release date for Surviving Mars. The game will be released for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

We will provide you with updates as we learn more about this new game.
