EA has announced that their subscription based library service is having another free trial period. Origin Access has had various free trials in the past and EA has confirmed that its just started another one.
Origin Access is EA’s library subscription program that provides players with access to a large number of games. This is the PC version of the “EA Access” subscription library which is exclusive to the Xbox One. The program provides players with a “vault” full of free games for them to play as long as they’re subscribed to it.
The platform includes the Mass Effect trilogy, Battlefield 4 and the platform-puzzle indie game Unravel. In addition to free games, Origin Access can also provide five day early access to certain new games. Anyone in the program can play these games five days before their official release date. EA has already confirmed that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be included in the program and the game will be playable from March 16th while the game is being launched on March 21st.
Anyone with a subscription also gets the added bonus of a discount on store purchases. Subscribers get a 10% discount on all digital EA games bought through the Origin store.
EA hasn’t revealed the duration of this new trial but new users will be able to explore the vault for free. This trial lasts for seven days and while users need to submit their payment details, the money is only taken at the end of the trial. Origin Access only costs $5/£4 per month and a yearly subscription costs $30/£20 upfront.
This seven day trial is exclusive to the PC version of the program. Xbox One owners will need to wait and see if EA announced a trial for them also.
