In yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, we learned about new games coming to both the Switch and 3DS, as well as some upcoming amiibos and Switch accessories. If you missed the Direct, fret not. You can check out our recap of the event’s biggest pieces of news here.
The newly revealed Switch accessories include neon yellow Joy-Cons, battery packs for individual Joy-Cons, and a standalone Switch dock. The yellow Joy-Cons and battery packs will release alongside Arms on June 15th, while the dock will be available in “limited quantities” on May 19th.
With the announcements of these new pieces, we went looking in the Nintendo Switch Shop and found some lesser known fun and useful accessories hiding in there. You might find you absolutely need some of these bits and bobs. Check out the list below.
Do you hate how the Switch’s kickstand only lets you view the tablet at one angle while in tabletop mode? Us too. Thankfully, with this cover, you can throw that kickstand out the window and choose from a whole three angles for your playing pleasure.
It also protects the Switch’s screen and comes with a cleaning cloth. It can be yours for $24.99!
These Breath of the Wild-themed earbuds look super snazzy, and they come with a sleek carrying case to take with you on the go. They feature a “hassle-free lay-flat cable and in-line mute controls,” and the case has a small pouch for a game cartridge or two.
They’re called “chat earbuds,” but nothing indicates they feature a microphone for actual online chatting–whenever that feature even becomes available. But they still look super cool. You can order them for $19.99.
Those Switch game cases are a bit excessive for those tiny cartridges, am I right? Hauling all those hunks of plastic around isn’t ideal, but you also don’t want to risk losing something the size of an SD card by putting it in your pocket or wallet. Cue this durable game case, which can hold up to 24 cartridges.
You probably don’t have enough games to even make a dent in this carrying case yet, but hey, it has room to grow. Snag it for $12.99.
If the above case is a bit too plain or bulky for your liking, Nintendo also carries game cases themed around Mario and Breath of the Wild. These guys hold 6 game cartridges in a spring-loaded pop-out drawer. Fancy, huh?
You can pick up these bad boys for $9.99 each.
These game cases are actually just plain versions of the boxes Switch games are sold in, sans cover art. Maybe you lost a case, or maybe you want to add your own artistic flare to your games’ cover art. Either way, these fellas are perfect.
You can buy a single case for $1.49 or a set of 5 for $6.99.
