Square Enix shared a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 at the D23 Expo in Japan, revealing a Monsters Inc. world and new gameplay footage. The publisher also revealed a brand new theme song by singer Hikaru Utada, the artist behind classic songs from the series.

In Kingdom Hearts, characters Sora, Donald, and Goofy visit various worlds inspired by Disney franchises. Previous titles have featured worlds based on many classics, but it’s been over a decade since Kingdom Hearts 2 released, so developers have a lot of modern Disney properties to potentially incorporate into the next game. Last year, Square Enix revealed a Toy Story world, and now the above trailer has shown off a Monsters Inc. and Tangled world for the first time.

Both new Kingdom Hearts 3 worlds feature familiar locations and characters from the movies, as well as weapons and enemies that carry on the theme. In the Monsters Inc. world, Sora, Donald, and Goofy get some… interesting furry makeovers to make them blend in better with their new setting. The trailer also shows other fun new bits of gameplay, like Sora summoning Ariel and using some pretty insane-looking special attacks. Characters Vanitas and Marluxia are also shown in the new trailer.

Additionally, Square Enix released a video featuring Kingdom Heart 3‘s new theme song, “Don’t Think Twice” by Utada Hikaru. Hikaru is the same artist behind the classic, beloved Kingdom Hearts song “Simple and Clean,” and this honestly wouldn’t be a main entry in the series without her music. Listen to Hikaru’s new song below.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is due out on PS4 and Xbox One sometime in 2018.

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
