A 90s Kid

Creative Assembly has decided to release a new statement about the future of the Total War series. The developer states that “production for our next historical major release is well underway”.

The issuing of this statement comes after fans have been asking a lot of questions about the next title. The developer wanted to “try to clear up any confusion” and also provide some new information about the future of the series. It follows the recent Total War: Warhammer 2 announcement from last week.

Creative Assembly has revealed that they’re currently working on several projects. The statement says that they’re “looking at a number of ways to bring variety of historical content”. This content will be coming over the coming months and years as opposed to “focusing on one singular project”. However, these projects are not a “distraction” to the different Historical and Warhammer teams.

The developer explains that the “historical and fantasy teams are separate and managed separately”. So that each title currently in development will receive the full attention it needs. This is great news for fans of the Total War series as it ensures the upcoming games will be of a high quality.

The statement confirms that the next historical game is currently in development but the developer hasn’t provided any hints about it. The developer has also revealed that the team is currently working with a historical adviser and that the next game will be for a brand new era.

While the statement certainly teases quite a bit, the developer hasn’t confirmed anything about their upcoming projects. The developer should have news about this new game over the next few months. The developer has also stated that they’ll be releasing new blog posts to keep fans updated.

We will provide you with updates when we learn more about their new projects.
