New Hearthstone expansion may have been leaked early

Hearthstone’s new expansion will be officially unveiled later today. The reveal will be coming at 7pm PST or 3am BST for UK readers. However, it looks as though the expansion has been leaked early.

The above image was taken by a Reddit user from the official Chinese website for Hearthstone. According to a rough translation of the text in the middle, it reads “Knights of the Frozen Throne”.

For those who don’t know, the Frozen Throne is from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion of World of Warcraft. It plays a central role in the expansion so we can assume the Hearthstone expansion is related to this WoW expansion. However, we won’t know for sure until Blizzard confirms (or denies) the leak later today.

The image also shows the basic heroes in some kind of undead form. Right now there’s no way to know exactly what this means but some fans of Hearthstone suspect it could mean a neutral quest is coming. However, it could also have something to do with the Lich King himself.
