Pokémon Sun and Moon players will finally get to complete their Pokédex with a new distribution coming to the United States and Europe. This time, players will have their first chance to add the Mythical Pokemon Marshadow to their teams with a code from retailers.
Beginning October 9th, U.S. players can head to their local GameStop to receive a code for downloading Marshadow onto their game. European players will also be able to receive the code from select retailers, though specific ones were not given at the time of this publication.
Like previous distributions, players can get Marshadow by selecting the “Mystery Gift” option from the game menu and choosing to receive the Pokémon “via code/password.” After entering the code from GameStop, players can pick their Pokémon up from the man waiting inside any in-game Pokémon Center.
Marshadow is a dual Fighting/Ghost-type Pokémon, and the one players get from this distribution will be level 50. It will also come with its own unique Z-Crystal, Marshadium Z, which lets it unleash its powerful Z-Move — called Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike — during battle. It will automatically know the moves Spectral Thief, Close Combat, Force Palm, and Shadow Ball.
Mythical Pokémon like Marshadow are named such because they aren’t available through normal means in the games, so you can’t simply catch one with a Pokéball. This distribution is currently the only legitimate way to obtain Marshadow.
Players won’t have quite as long to snag this Pokémon as past distributions. Marshadow will be available October 9th through October 23rd, so you’ll want to act fast if you want this rare monster fighting on your team. In the meantime, GameStop is still giving out codes for a level 50 Salazzle until September 4th.
Pokémon Sun and Moon are available now on Nintendo 3DS systems.
