Developer Tarsier Studios announced last month that Little Nightmares will be getting a DLC. This DLC is called the “Secrets of the Maw” and is a three-chapter story which tells the tale of The Runaway Kid. Another prisoner of The Maw who is searching for a way to escape.

This DLC will send The Runaway Kid to never before seen areas of The Maw across three different chapters. The first chapter is called “The Depths” and the second is known as “The Hideaway”. In the blog post released on Steam, the developer states that the last location is currently a secret. However, they reveal that it will offer a different perspective on Six’s adventure.

The Depths follows a group of kids as they attempt to escape The Maw. It doesn’t go so well for The Kid however as he falls into the Depths of the Maw. The new location is home to The Granny, a strange creature that won’t let anything escape its’ decaying grasp. According to the blog post The Kid must “leap from floating debris to avoid being pulled into the treacherous waters”. Suggesting then that platforming will play a large role in this DLC. In addition to this, he must “find a way to create a path through the depths” in order to survive.

Anyone with the base game can purchase the three part expansion on Steam for $9.99 or £7.99 as a combined price for the chapters. However, the developers have now released a “Complete Edition” of the game which contains the base game and also the Secrets of the Maw Season Pass. The Complete Edition is available on Steam here. Little Nightmares is also available for purchase on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Chapter 1 of Secrets of the Maw will be releasing tomorrow for all platforms. Stay tuned for details on the other two chapters that will be releasing later this year and in 2018.
