How to Get a PlayStation Classic for $36

The PlayStation Classic has had its price drastically reduced at several retailers around the United States, and reportedly in the UK as well. This morning multiple sources have confirmed that Target is parting with its spare PlayStation Classics for only $59.99 after a 40% off Cartwheel coupon is applied. That’s a $40 USD discount from the launch price of $99.99. If you’re lucky, there’s a trick that may bring that price down even further.

Here’s what you should try to do. B&H is currently offering the PlayStation Classic for only $54.99. You can find a link to the listing right here. If you take this listing to your local Target and ask for a price match, they too may bring the base price of the PlayStation Classic down to $54.99. Once they do, you can then pull up the Target Cartwheel app, and see if they’ll apply the 40% discount to the price-matched PlayStation Classic.

If your local Target is willing to do this, that will bring the price of the PlayStation Classic down to only $35.99 USD. Some may say that $36 is still too much money to spend on the PlayStation Classic, but even if the list of games isn’t exciting to you, you can still think of this as a cheap entry price fo ra really cool DIY project.

The controllers that come with the PlayStation Classic can be used on PC. The PlayStation Classic shell could house a Raspberry Pi to make a really cool retro gaming hub. In the future, someone could find a way to upload some really great custom firmware to the device. There are many reasons you may want to keep this thing around. Hell, you may even want to just play it like it comes out of the box!

If that’s the case, then you’ll want to jump on this deal soon, because it will be dead before you know it.
