Episodic stealth game Hitman was previously promised new content on October 24th by developer IO Interactive. Now, today is October 24th, and the studio has revealed the new content. Hitman: Game of the Year Edition is coming next month, IO Interactive announced today.
Hitman: Game of the Year Edition will release on November 7th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will cost $60 for first time players to get the base game plus GOTY content, while those who already own Hitman can upgrade for $20. IO Interactive stated the new version of the game will be available digitally and did not mention a physical release.
The biggest piece of new content in the Hitman: Game of the Year Edition is a four-mission campaign called Patient Zero, which spans reworked locations Bangkok, Sapienza, Colorado, and Hokkaido. Each features “new gameplay opportunities, disguises, characters, challenges, gameplay mechanics, AI behavior, and HUD elements,” in addition to new music.
Developers have also added three new suits, each with their own weapon — the clown from Blood Money, a stealthy sniper outfit, and a cowboy in a suit. Snazzy. Each of the three costumes has a themed Escalation Contract attached.
All Hitman players, GOTY or not, will receive a free game update on November 7th. The patch includes a redesigned UI, new Contracts Mode features, lighting improvements, and Xbox One X support, including native 4K and a “higher” framerate. More details on Xbox One X support will be announced soon.
Additionally, Elusive Targets, the game’s unique time-limited missions, will be coming back for all Hitman players. If you’ve already completed or failed an Elusive Target, you won’t be able to try that specific contract again, but any missed missions will be available to play shortly after the GOTY release.
