Ghost Recon: Wildlands PvP Mode Ghost War Gets a Release Date

Ubisoft has announced that the PvP mode for Ghost Recon: Wildlands finally has a release date. The developer confirms that the mode will be arriving on October 10th as a free update for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Ghost War takes the form of the classic deathmatch however, we don’t know much about how it works right now. Matches play as a best of three with 10 minutes per round and there will be 12 classes at launch. A new trailer released today showing the last three classes to be announced: Assassin, Diversionist and Sentinel.

Ubisoft states Ghost War will have regular updates and players can expect to see new content coming in the future. This will include new maps, classes and modes. At launch however, Ghost War takes the form of a classic deathmatch, however, more mods will come in the future. While there are also eight maps confirmed for the mode at launch, more will be coming.

Here’s the full list of classes in Ghost War at launch:

  • Ranger
  • Assassin
  • Diversionist
  • Medic
  • Sentinel
  • Tech
  • Pointman
  • Sniper
  • Scout
  • Enforcer
  • Artillery
  • Tank

Ghost War will be a team-based mode where two groups of players will battle in four vs four combat. Matches will be played on a large-scale open map where players will engage in tactical squad gameplay to takedown the other team.

Each map in the game is unique and comes with its’ own challenges and opportunities. Teams can use the environment to deal damage or create diversions to creep closer to the objective of the mode. However, there will also be environmental events such as storms that can provide cover for teams to move positions by disrupting line of sight.

Ghost War is a highly anticipated new feature to Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Hopefully Ubisoft will be able to deliver a solid mode.
