Friday the 13th: The Game is getting a new Jason

Developer Illfonic has announced that a variety of new content is coming to Friday the 13th: The Game very soon. The team behind the game has also launched a brand new website which reveals some of the new upcoming additions. However, most of these are not full announcements. The developer has opted to tease and confirm a few additions to the game instead. Hopefully more news will be coming before the end of the month.

Jason

The biggest confirmation is the fact that there’s a new Jason coming to the game. He’ll feature unique kills and all existing versions of Jason will be receiving new kills also.

Retro Jason is also being removed from the game temporarily. This is so the developers can work on him a little bit more to bring him into a better state. It should take around a month to do this so this Jason should be back for the September update.

Maps

The website confirms that several new maps are currently in development. According to the website one of them is “coming sooner than you might think” and is “ripped straight from the films”. This new map will be be free to all users but it currently doesn’t have a release date.

In addition to this, the developers are releasing smaller versions of the current maps. These will be perfect for smaller matches or for faster paced games. Just like the new maps, there’s currently no release date for these small maps.

Emotes

A free emote DLC is incoming. It will feature 8 free communication emotes with a new HUD/UI to access them. There is no release date for this just yet.

Counselors

Illfonic confirms that 2 new counselors will be coming to the game however, they haven’t really provided any other information or hints. In addition to this, a new clothing pack will be available soon which allows players to customize their counselors. The Spring Break 1984 clothing pack is beach themed and will be available at $4 when it launches later this year.
